The Girl Education in RELI Africa Project is an ambitious initiative designed to tackle the multifaceted challenges hindering equitable access to quality education for girls in East Africa. Operating within a context shaped by systemic inequities, entrenched patriarchy, pervasive poverty, harmful cultural norms, and the compounded effects of marginalization, the project aims to drive transformative change for the most vulnerable.
RELI’s Girl Education Program is unique in these ways:
-
-
Credible/Evidence based: Uses mixed methods and proven approaches to identify sustainable solutions for girls’ equitable education.
-
Collaborative: Engages diverse stakeholders to achieve shared goals.
-
Community-centered: Empowers communities as both change agents and solution drivers
-
Centered on girls: Building the girls’ agency to advocate for their own solutions
-
Contextual: Accounts for girls’ lived experiences
